The National Lottery Community Fund (NLCF) has announced its priority over the next six months is to get funding to groups best placed to support their communities during the COVID-19 outbreak whilst still honouring its current commitments.

The Fund announced last week that, over the next six months, up to £300 million of National Lottery funding will be awarded across the UK, to address the current crisis.

The National Lottery Community Fund will give priority to:

  • Organisations supporting people who are at high risk from COVID-19.
  • Organisations supporting communities most likely to face increased demand and challenges as a direct result of COVID-19.
  • Organisations with high potential to support communities with the direct and indirect impact of COVID-19.

NLCF staff are working from home and the organisation's priority is to ensure that money keeps flowing into communities.

Groups that would like to submit an application that is not related to COVID-19 are still welcome to do so, however, NLCF anticipates the competition for funding will be greater than usual and there will be a delay in the funder's response.

The NLCF has reassured organisations that they will still honour their current commitments and will continue to be flexible with existing grants.
